Image and adorable crocheted Chubby Eagle by Robin

Cute, cute, cute! I fell in love with Robin's adorable Chubby Eagle - the prize in a recent giveaway on Rsislandcrafts. How could I not put my name in the hat? I was pretty surprised when I found out I had won though!

Winning two giveaways in one week is unheard of in my house.

But there it was - a picture of the eagle with my name on it!

When my eagle arrived, I couldn't open the box fast enough.

The box was stuffed full of tissue in every color of the rainbow, and as I began to pull the tissue out so I could get to my eagle, I was thinking what a sweetheart Robin was to make the packing so pretty.

Wait! There was something in the tissue - way too flat to be an eagle! Robin had tucked in one of her gorgeous Samoan pouches. Isn't it beautiful? The color in the American Samoan prints is so clear and pure and the prints make my eyes happy. I love it.

AND tucked into another tissue package Robin's version of a key keeper - a new craft she has been playing with. She says they are easy and quick to make. I am just glad she sent me one! Now I can't possibly lose my keys - in my purse or anywhere else.

Reaching back into the box I pulled out another piece of tissue! Still no eagle but instead this beautiful little mug rug.

But I have to come clean - until Robin enlightened me, I had no idea what a mug rug was! Sometimes I think I have my head buried in the blogisand. When I complimented Robin on making up such a cute name for her mini quilt, she very graciously clued me in! Sigh.

She must have remembered that I love hexies. And the fabric on the reverse side is perfect for those days when I am feeling sassy.

Colorful tissue package after colorful package! She really had that eagle buried in the bottom of the box.

I pulled out a very lumpy package - and inside two tiny sleds. Apparently Robin's Grandfather taught her how to make them and now she makes them for all his great grandchildren to carry on the family tradition. I am thrilled and honored to have them and they will always have a special place on my holiday trees.

Another package held a micro fiber dust mitt. (I thought my dusty house was a well kept secret! Guess not.)

And another package held two little boxes of heart candy.

And finally there he was. My beautiful Chubby Eagle! Didn't Robin do a great job - he is perfect... and quite a charmer. I love him to pieces.

Robin, thank you!  I would have been thrilled to receive the eagle you crocheted.  No way was I expecting a box filled with goodies. But I love them all and I will think of you and the fun I had opening my "Christmas box" everytime I use your gifts.

I introduced all of you to Robin last month - you know - the host of the Christmas Stocking giveaway - when I get to play Santa. ( FYI I just ordered the pattern and yarn for this year's stocking hohoho!)

Chubby Eagle isn't the only eagle she has made this year. Be sure to take a peak at Earl the Little Eagle. OMG! He looks just like a little fuzzy headed eaglet.

You can find Robin's quilts and afghans in her ArtFire Shop along with stockings, whimsical hats, crocheted frogs, scarfs, mittens and patterns. And viking hats! She offers both the pattern and the completed hats - some even with braids. Stop by and visit.

And come back tomorrow to see what was in my package from Switzerland!

Oh how fun!
