Christmas Stocking Giveaway #1

P1110938

Stocking Giveaway time is finally here!

I have two stockings to give away this year! Each one will have goodies inside to celebrate St. Nicholas Day, St. Lucy Day, Guadalupe Day and other little goodies I have been collecting this year - like Fanie's adorable stamps! If you have been reading my blog, you know what they are!

Also, I am tucking in a couple easy to put together little "kits" from tutorials here on Gingerbread Snowflakes.

And in each stocking will be a little bitty box of those lovely chocolate sprinkles the Dutch love to put on their toast every morning!

Remember the Stocking Giveaway is hosted by Robin at Rsisland Crafts and if you follow this link you will find links to all the other crafty people who are holding Stocking Giveaway's on their own blogs! You can also use the button on the sidebar (right below the 2010 Holiday Cookie Recipe Swap) to reach the links!

Make the rounds and put your name in as many hats as you like! More giveaways will no doubt be posted throughout the week, so be sure to check back often.

If you would like to hold a giveaway on your own blog - it is not too late! Just pop it up on your blog and link to Robin's blog so you can link your site to all the others.

To enter the Giveaway for THIS sweet 12" quilted and embroidered Spoonflower fabric stocking, simply leave a comment below and tell me coolest thing you have ever found hiding in your Christmas stocking! And you can enter giveaway # 2 here if you would like two chances to win a stocking!

The giveaway is open until midnight PST December 5th (St. Nicholas Eve); and the winner will be announced on December 6th (St. Nicholas Day)!

Internationals are welcome to enter!

Good luck everyone!

I found a piece of paper with

I found a piece of paper with the words "look in bathtub" on it and it was a kids saddle!

We never had stockings when I

We never had stockings when I was little, but I always do one for my three children. I bought a set of 4 when my eldest was born, knitted woollen fairisle lined with cotton- which is a bother every year as it prevents stretching and exciting knobbly shapes! It is a challenge to get things in (and out) but we can't seem to face changing them for new ones, they are a part of our tradition now!

Your stocking is so very

Your stocking is so very beautiful!

When I was a child, my mum sewed a stocking for me. It is very special, it was the best gift in itself. I still hang it out at Christmas time and still find a little something from my parents. ;) So, this stocking helps me to relive my childhood every year.

The neatest thing that I

The neatest thing that I found in my stocking was hand knit mittens by my first grade teacher. they were blue with snowflakes knitted in them. I still have them. I hope I win!

I never had a stocking as a

I never had a stocking as a child. So the best gift I received was a stocking that my boyfriend (now husband) bought me. I've been enjoying it for 26 years.

My grandmother made my

My grandmother made my stocking by hand and it's a cherished treasure. She would put brazil nuts in the shell in the stocking and they've always been a favorite - but only if in the shell, like they were in the stocking. This is a wonderful stocking, I love the curled toe. Thanks for such cool giveaways.

These stockings are so

These stockings are so pretty! At this rate....with these fun giveaways...I will never finish my Christmas crafting and baking! I knew I should have started last summer!

Every Christmas, my mother

Every Christmas, my mother would place an "ornament of the year" in our stocking. When we left home as young adults, those ornaments went with us for our own trees. Through all those college apartment moves, they never seemed to get lost. Now I enjoy them on my tree, as I explain to my 4 yr old son, the significance of each one!
Thank you for participating in the hop, and have a Happy Holiday season!

What a gorgeous stocking,

What a gorgeous stocking, Pam! The coolest thing I ever found in my stocking was the "Christmas in the Stars: A Star Wars Christmas CD." You can't help but smile and sing along to great songs like, "What Can You Get A Wookie For Christmas When He Already Owns A Comb" and "R2D2 We Wish You A Merry Christmas!"
Thanks for this awesome giveaway!
Big hugs,
Arielle

That stocking is gorgeous

That stocking is gorgeous too! I think that the coolest thing that I've ever received in my stocking was a pomegranate. Seriously. When I was a kiddo, there was usually an orange in our stocking, but one year, my parents bought a pomegranate for me. It was the first that I had ever had, and I fell in love! It is still one of my favorite fruits - such a special treat!

I had been on about getting a

I had been on about getting a new ring and one year my husband bought me not 1 but 5 toy rings all packaged up.

My mom bought a special

My mom bought a special ornament for each of her 5 children every year & put them in our stockings - I still have many of mine - very special. Your stocking is beautiful - thanks for the chance to win it.

One year I told my husband

One year I told my husband that my mother, who died in 1995, used to place a bag of chocolate coins in my stocking every year when I was a child. That Christmas, my sweet husband put a bag of chocolate coins in my stocking. That surprise brought back very special memories. I saved one of those coins to cherish forevermore.

I don't remember anythinh

I don't remember anythinh really exciting, but allways enjoyed all the little surprizes I would find inside! Thanks for the giveaway.

Last year my son put a gift

Last year my son put a gift card from my favorite fabric store in my stocking. Oh yeah, they know what I like!

The coolest thing I've ever

The coolest thing I've ever found in my stocking was a packet of Mimosa pudica seeds.

The best thing I ever found

The best thing I ever found in my stocking was the little gifts that my kids put in themselves. I Was surprised that they thought I should have things in my stocking too.

It wasn't considered a cool

It wasn't considered a cool gift, but my mom always put a new charm for my bracelet in my stocking every year. It is special to me now.

I haven't had a stocking

I haven't had a stocking since a child. But keep the tradition with kids and now they pass it on - an orange must be place in the toe as an homage to our ancestors who struggled, yet always managed a bit of fruit in the toe of the stocking as a special treat.

My favorite thing to get in a

My favorite thing to get in a stocking when I was little was ribbon candy. I still like it! I love this stocking with it's pointy little toe!

Have done stockings with my

Have done stockings with my children since they where
young they are now in twenties and still love there stockings. Please put me in the draw, also go over
to blessed mum for my stocking draw.

Hmm, best thing in my

Hmm, best thing in my Christmas stocking when I was a kid was the annual Lifesaver book of candies. I looked forward to it every year. This Christmas stocking is just lovely. I have read some novels that involve the Dutch since I was a teenager by Betty Neels so I even know what St. Nicholas day is. Thank you for the chance to win!

I can't remember any specific

I can't remember any specific things in my stocking from my childhood but the one thing that has been with me since I got it is my teddy bear from my very first Christmas (6 months old).
The thing I love best about this bear is that he has been with me through thick and thin and he is now looking after my little girl the same way.

The coolest thing I ever

The coolest thing I ever found in my Christmas stocking were earrings that my husband picked out for me when we were first dating. They are very sentimental to me. Thanks for the chance to win your lovely stocking. I LOVE the pointy toe with the bell!

I'm going to sound seriously

I'm going to sound seriously lame here, but when I was a child, I always left a tiny bit of wrapping paper torn from my stocking presents in the bottom of my stocking. There was something so comforting and nostalgic in discovering all the little bits of paper from previous Christmases in the toe after I'd unwrapped all of my presents on Christmas morning and remembering the Christmases passed.

I would have to say my

I would have to say my favorite thing to find in my stocking is something one of my sweet babies have stuffed in there to surprise mommy. They love to make sure CHRISTmas is fun for mommy too. It lets me know that maybe the other 364 days of the year I have done something right because my children can think of others and want to make sure they are happy also. Good Luck all!!

Beautiful stocking Pam - so elegant!! I think it would look good on any mantle or at the foot of any bed!!

I am the stocking stuffer

I am the stocking stuffer here too, so I would have to go back to my childhood, and I just can't remember anything. When I went to college, my mom made me an advent calendar instead of doing a stocking, and now she fills it for my daughter. My daughter uses the same stocking that I had as a kid, and it was my mom's stocking too.

Your stocking is so pretty.

Your stocking is so pretty. I would love to win it even without goodies inside! We do stockings at our house. I always have fun finding neat things to put in my two DDs socks. My stocking is a cheap one from the dept store, but one year my DH gave me a necklace in my stocking. It was a surprise, because usually no one else puts things in the stockings, but me.

My husband once bought me

My husband once bought me some earings that I hadn't even asked for, it was the biggest surprise ever! Love your stocking! Linda

What a beautiful stocking! As

What a beautiful stocking! As a child my favourite thing was plasticine - I loved it!!

We don't really have

We don't really have stockings here, but we get small gifts on St. Nicholas Day. (We have to polish our shoes the night before and put them outside to find little surprises on them the next morning.) One day I decided that just one pair wasn't enough so I got out all the shoes I owned (which wasn't that much, maybe five pairs), cleaned them and put them outside. I actually did find something in every shoe the next morning, even if it was just a walnut or a mandarine.

Thanks for the giveaway!
Isabel

Dear Pam I would love to say

Dear Pam
I would love to say that in my stocking I had something funny and interesting but we do not have that tradition in Portugal, but I can say that the best gifts I had were the sunshinesmiles on my babies in their first Christhmas.

the best thing that I ever

the best thing that I ever put in a stocking was a cartoony rubber toad with a really big grin on his face - I tied a tag to it that read,"Have I toad you how much I love you?" and I put it in my Dad's stocking. 2 years ago when I helped pack up everything on the farm, I found that toad on my Dad's desk. He said that was to be put in the "keeper pile" and was going to move with him. At 82 he now lives next door and he is "toad" every day how much I love him.... I would love to win such a beautiful stocking...
