Erin Fickert-Rowland - Renaissance Artist!

Selecting a photograph to begin this post about my friend Erin, who shares her many talents on her blog "Elysian Studios", became an impossible task, so I chose instead a picture of one of the ways she has inspired me and made my life more enjoyable! My hand-woven journal!

Erin's tutorial for applying fabrics to composition notebooks happened along at a time I was quite involved in playing on my cardboard looms! Weaving and Erin's technique made beautiful music together, don't you think?

If you haven't taken the time to make a woven or fabric covered journal, I suggest you do so soon. The feel of these journals in your hands adds a lovely tactile element to journaling. I LOVE just holding and touching my woven journal.

Thank you Erin!

Now where do I go - tough decision when confronted with an Renaissance Artist!

Let's start with one of my favorite posts in her series featuring her Apilco paintings "Progression in Painting".

to this!

I promise - even if you have never held a brush in your hands, you will thoroughly enjoy this post. The side of me that wistfully wishes she could paint never tires of viewing it.

Since meeting Erin in Diane's Blog Tune-Up Class last spring, I have watched her site evolve and grow by leaps and bounds!

I simply love visiting because I always find delight and beauty - a new painting, new jewelry collection, new inspiration.

For instance this opening introduction to her stunning Woodland Spice Jewelry Collection. I love how she uses this delicious set of imagery to introduce a new collection and share the inspiration for the colors and designs. She follows it up with inspired ways to wear and accessorize pieces from the collection.

As you can see - her jewelry collections are just beautiful - every single one of them. Erin is definitely a very talented designer.

But my very favorite is the Woodland Spice Collection!

You can browse all of Erin's Jewelry collections here in her Elysian Studios Shop.

Erin's paintings are also available at the Elysian Studios Shop and soon, she will be opening a textiles section!

Just recently, Erin added a new shop - Elysian Art - A La Carte - where she offers handmade components and accessories for artful creations. She is just putting the finishing touches on the Jewelry Components and Beads section and I am sure you will find it to be a beautiful new source for hand-made beads and jewelry components.

"Little Zen's" !

Two more gifts from Erin!

One of these sweet "Little Zen's" arrived in my mail box during the winter holidays! I simply love the sparkly little bead accent, don't you?

"Motivate Your Creativity: Who You Are and Who You Will Be".

I am NOT sharing my "Little Zen"! But I do want very much to share the "Motivate" post. It is beautifully and thoughtfully written and illustrated. Have a look!

Thank you Erin, for your friendship, support, my beautiful hand-woven journal, and my treasured "Little Zen"!

I'd whipped past this post in

I'd whipped past this post in my reader the other day (with a mental note to stop by again when I had more time) and had recognized Erin's name from the Ebook class I took from Diane last year. We hadn't really connected; I'm sometimes way too shy for my own good, silly me. But you've definitely peaked my interest in Erin's work. I will certainly visit her site after seeing this brilliant review. Thanks Pam!

Thanks for reminding me about this hand-woven journal cover. I really want to make one! And you DO paint well, young lady! But I know what you mean. I'm going over and look at her painting post. She certainly does bring creativity into life in so many ways. It's inspiring.

That Blog Tune up Class of Diane's was one of the best classes I ever took. I am hampered by time and a full time job in not applying so many of the things I learned in that class and being able to really jump my site to the next level, but her lessons really hit the mark in so many areas. And one of them is finding new friends like Erin!

I don't think I can even come

I don't think I can even come up with words to tell you how I feel, Pam. I am so humbled by all of the kind things you have said, and so utterly elated to have a friend like you!
