Christmas in July Shopping Spree Giveaway to Support Makers of Free Content
Submitted by Pam on Mon, 07/09/2012 - 17:52
Christmas in July Shopping Spree Giveaway is one of several shopping sprees held on this blog throughout the year to support makers of free online content. And since it is still new - it is a work in progress!. This month I am experimenting and instead of asking the winner to select just one shop, I am giving the winner the option to select items from as many of the 5 shops featured as she likes - as long as she stays in budget!!
The Christmas in July Shopping Spree Giveaway total amount: $30.00. And shipping fees, if any, will be covered by me!
The shops featured include everything from patterns to e-books to hand-made treasures and the shop owners are among some of the most generous in the blogisphere when it comes to sharing free on-line content and tutorials.
The winner will be selected by drawing after the Shopping Spree closes at midnight PST July 15th. Once selected, I will notify the winner and provide further instructions. No need to list your selections on your comment.
To enter, leave a comment on this post and tell me what you think of the idea of allowing the winner to make selections from more than one shop. And of course, any lovely comments about the shops themselves are most welcome!
And now! Let's go shopping!
Felted Beach Pebbles from The Fairyfolk Shop
Oodles and oodles of needle felted goodness from patterns to kits to hand made Waldorf inspired creatures and sculptures. Even Fairy Dust necklaces! Eighteen Pages of treasures! You will definitely be spending some time browsing the Fairyfolk Shop!
Shop owner, Donni, shares imaginative, magical craft tutorials and her love of all things Waldorf on her blog The Magic Onions; and she supports her shop customers and blog readers by offering many free needle felting tutorials.
TP Roll Thistle Ornaments from Michele Made Me Shop
Anyone reading GBSN this past year knows I am smitten when it comes to Michele's brilliance for creating beautiful objects from absolute - well - trash!!!
And. although Michele generously shares many, many, many free how-to tutorials on her blog, Michele Made Me, she also recently created a lovely shop where she offers PDF tutorials for some pretty imaginative ways to use materials that would otherwise be destined for the land fill!
Octopus Softie Pattern from While She Naps Shop
If it had not been for her generous support and help by way of her tutorials for making softies published on her blog While She Naps, my Christmas in July 2011 Dala Horse would not exist. Period. I owe Abby big time.
Check out other free tutorials right here!
She has a new book coming out next year BTW - filled to the brim with all her soft toy creating and designing and sewing techniques. And FYI there is enough in your budget to even get a signed copy of her already published book -"The Artful Bird"! Find it in the shop. Remember - postage is on me!!
Handwork for the Holidays e-book from Duo Fiberworks Shop
In the shop you will find patterns for adorable knitted soft toys, sweet holiday diorama ornaments, even a felted mason jar cozy and wood carrier and the above mentioned e-book of course!
And on the blog - check out their tutorials and free patterns for everything from the cutest pumpkin ever to carved wood veggies! This is the place! The place where I learned to make my own rainbow wreath and flying snakes!
Dandelion Zipper Pouch Pattern from Bustle and Sew Shop
I have no idea how Helen manages to do all she does! Just take a peak into her shop - there are patterns for quilting, softies, and bags and scarves and tea cozies, and cushions, clocks and laundry bags!
She publishes a monthly magazine - Bustle and Sew - 50 pages of awesome content every month! (Back issues are available in the shop). And on her free patterns and tutorial page you will find the cutest mice and elephant patterns, help for transferring embroidery patterns, gorgeous sunflower applique and her e-book - "Top Tips for Stitchers" - a huge collection of needlecraft and sewing tips from readers of her blog, Bustle and Sew.
So there you are! Lots of lovely shops! Lots to choose from!
All of these amazing designers deserve our support and I hope even if you are not the winner of this giveaway, you will visit again and again and do a little shopping!
It is not too early to begin holiday making ya know!
