Christmas in July Shopping Spree Giveaway to Support Makers of Free Content

Epiphyllum

Christmas in July Shopping Spree Giveaway is one of several shopping sprees held on this blog throughout the year to support makers of free online content. And since it is still new - it is a work in progress!. This month I am experimenting and instead of asking the winner to select just one shop, I am giving the winner the option to select items from as many of the 5 shops featured as she likes - as long as she stays in budget!!

The Christmas in July Shopping Spree Giveaway total amount: $30.00. And shipping fees, if any, will be covered by me!

The shops featured include everything from patterns to e-books to hand-made treasures and the shop owners are among some of the most generous in the blogisphere when it comes to sharing free on-line content and tutorials.

The winner will be selected by drawing after the Shopping Spree closes at midnight PST July 15th. Once selected, I will notify the winner and provide further instructions.  No need to list your selections on your comment.

To enter, leave a comment on this post and tell me what you think of the idea of allowing the winner to make selections from more than one shop. And of course, any lovely comments about the shops themselves are most welcome!

And now! Let's go shopping!

Felted Beach Stones from FairyFolk Shop

Felted Beach Pebbles from The Fairyfolk Shop

Oodles and oodles of needle felted goodness from patterns to kits to hand made Waldorf inspired creatures and sculptures. Even Fairy Dust necklaces! Eighteen Pages of treasures! You will definitely be spending some time browsing the Fairyfolk Shop!

Shop owner, Donni, shares imaginative, magical craft tutorials and her love of all things Waldorf on her blog The Magic Onions; and she supports her shop customers and blog readers by offering many free needle felting tutorials.

Thistle Ornaments from Michele Made Me shop

TP Roll Thistle Ornaments from Michele Made Me Shop

Anyone reading GBSN this past year knows I am smitten when it comes to Michele's brilliance for creating beautiful objects from absolute - well - trash!!!

And. although Michele generously shares many, many, many free  how-to tutorials on her blog, Michele Made Me, she also recently created a lovely shop where she offers PDF tutorials for some pretty imaginative ways to use materials that would otherwise be destined for the land fill!

Take a peak at the quality, thoroughness and ingenuity in her free tutorials and printables! You will understand why I have purchased five tutorials from the shop!

Octopus softie from While She Naps Shop

Octopus Softie Pattern from While She Naps Shop

Most of you also know that I am a huge fan of Abby Glassenberg and her talent for making the most delightful softies. Her shop features patterns for softies to delight anyone of any age!

If it had not been for her generous support and help by way of her tutorials for making softies published on her blog While She Naps, my Christmas in July 2011 Dala Horse would not exist. Period. I owe Abby big time.

Check out other free tutorials right here!

She has a new book coming out next year BTW - filled to the brim with all her soft toy creating and designing and sewing techniques. And FYI there is enough in your budget to even get a signed copy of her already published book -"The Artful Bird"! Find it in the shop. Remember - postage is on me!!

Holiday Project E-book from Duo Fiberworks Shop

Handwork for the Holidays e-book from Duo Fiberworks Shop

Dynamic Duo I call them - Laura and Katie! Their blog, Duo Fiberworks had been a source of inspiration and learning since I first "met" them!

In the shop you will find patterns for adorable knitted soft toys, sweet holiday diorama ornaments, even a felted mason jar cozy and wood carrier and the above mentioned e-book of course!

And on the blog - check out their tutorials and free patterns for everything from the cutest pumpkin ever to carved wood veggies! This is the place! The place where I learned to make my own rainbow wreath and flying snakes!

Dandelion Bag Pattern from Bustle and Sew Shop

Dandelion Zipper Pouch Pattern from Bustle and Sew Shop

I have no idea how Helen manages to do all she does! Just take a peak into her shop - there are patterns for quilting, softies, and bags and scarves and tea cozies, and cushions, clocks and laundry bags!

She publishes a monthly magazine - Bustle and Sew - 50 pages of awesome content every month! (Back issues are available in the shop). And on her free patterns and tutorial page you will find the cutest mice and elephant patterns, help for transferring embroidery patterns, gorgeous sunflower applique and her e-book - "Top Tips for Stitchers" - a huge collection of needlecraft and sewing tips from readers of her blog, Bustle and Sew.

Usually a procrastinator, I surprised myself when I ordered Abby Glassenberg's The Artful Bird and immediately made two projects from it. Both ( the wren and the crow) delighted me and apparently others because I had an offer to purchase the crow. It is the access to free tutorials that gives me the courage to move on to projects that I might not otherwise try. Thank you for the opportunity to have fun.

Hi Pam,
I guess I am just like Dawn and wasn't going to enter this drawing but I'm kind of in a slump for a different
Christmas gift and perhaps one of these crafters may just have what I need!
ps. I have been enjoying Helen, from Bustle & Sew, ever since you mentioned her here...

These are wonderful shops! I love supporting independent shops like these. :) And I think it's great that you're allowing the winner to choose from the different shops, as although all the shops offer some wonderful products, people have different interests and tastes. I'm sure there is something here for every craft lover. :D

Hi Pam after reading your blog I always click over to one of your favorite crafty bloggers sites, infact I have saved many onto my toolbar. I have used a few of the tutorials from while she naps to create softies for my beautiful Brody and Chloe. So its fabulous that you are "giving back". Wow the winner of Christmas in July will have a very dificult time - all five shops are truely awesome! Thanks for sharing all the wonderful blogoshperes with me.

I think that since you are giving such a generous amount that it is wonderful that the winner will be able to choose from 5 different shops. Sometimes you fall in love with only one thing from a shop...like that adorable octopus!!

Now I am off to visit new to me shops and blogs :)

Having more choices? Of course I love more choices! You've heard of a woman's perogative of changing her mind and this would allow you to do that....or not. I love the sites you have chosen and would love to win anything from any of the sites...although it would probably take me a year to choose since they all have so many pretties to peruse. I'm with Pam (poster before me) "pick me!!"

Dear Pam, I wasn't planning

Dear Pam,
I wasn't planning on entering your draw when I started reading the post, but you got me at Abby's Artful Bird. I would love to have the book, but find the combined cost of book and shipping a bit much. So if you pick me, I would be only too happy to pay the shipping myself. Thank you for your generous spirit. I really love your blog.

All the best
Dawn
