Bringing You Up To Date and Sharing a New Adventure!

Mt. Rainier, WA

I have not been around much this past month. Managed to keep up with blog posts - it was Christmas in July after all! But your e-mails are languishing unanswered and I have left precious few comments - in fact I am waaaaaaayyyyy behind in my Google Reader.

I have a good excuse though! My 14 year old grandson Joey visited for almost a whole month and both Diane and I were busy almost every moment of that time enjoying his company and sharing the delights and wonders of Portland and the sights to be seen in the Pacific Northwest.

And along the way, Joey taught me how to text, and to take pictures with my iPhone and introduced me to Dr. Who - I am now a fan! (In return I turned him into a Trekkie!

He has been home a week now and Diane and I - and our sweethearts - have been scurrying around catching up. July weddings are all edited now and tomorrow my good friend Heidi and I will be spending the day making Torta to freeze for winter holiday snacking and celebrations.

And then - I will be turning my attention to my internet family - and you will find answers to your e-mails and comments on your posts! I have missed you.

And I have appreciated more than you know your lovely comments on my Christmas in July posts and your friendship despite my absence.

Monetize Your Craft Blog

Monday - August 13th - I am joining Diane for her brand new class - "Monetizing Your Craft Blog". I think it is going to be very good for me!!

I do get a little insider info you know and it really is going to be a great class - I am very excited about it.

Truth be told, I am very much on the fence about whether or not to consider monetizing Gingerbread Snowflakes. I have no clue about how to go about it, much less what would fit well with me. I DO have a pretty clear picture of what I DO NOT WANT monetizing to look like.

I love blogging. I am passionate about what I blog about. And I plan on blogging a long, long time. So, I think this class will be a very good investment to help me sort things out and find a path and direction that works for me.

                        In Diane's words -

a little about the new  class:

"You love blogging. You'd love to make blogging into a viable living – or at least some side-income. You're just not sure how to go about it. Or maybe you have tried to bring in some income from your blog, but the results weren't all that great.

"Monetize Your Craft Blog is a three week class that takes place in a private online space. There will be a variety of lessons in the form of text, audio, video and downloadable worksheets.

"You can get one-on-one help from your teacher via email, and work with your classmates through our class forum and lesson comments.

"This class is meant to be a time of deep focus and exploration – your blog is unique, like you are. There aren't cookie-cutter solutions to earning money through blogging."

You can read the whole story here including what to expect and what will be covered in each week of class.

And Diane shares a great deal of insight into the whole subject of monetizing a blog in this post on CraftyPod.

I do hope to see some of you in class! You can sign up right here!

See you Monday!

I'm glad you had a great

I'm glad you had a great July, and a great time with your grandson! And I'm glad you took a blogging break! :) But am very glad you're back! :() xxx

Oh, Pam, I love it that you

Oh, Pam, I love it that you were groovin with your grandson! Where are you on Dr. Who? There are about a million incarnations of him! Are you in the 70's? or the 2000's? Or the latest ones? We had a great time and went to the 25th anniversary of Star Trek the next generation (my second favorite star trek) that Fathom events had in theatres. It was fun.

I text once in awhile. Sometimes I accidentally text in Espacio and can't change it back. Which makes me a little pobrecita.

Sound like you had a great

Sound like you had a great July! The class sounds like it will be very interesting- can't wait to hear all about it. : )

Am thinking back on some of

Am thinking back on some of our conversations about where our blogs are going and the amount of time we spend on them.  I think the class would be a great investment of time, Meg.  We are both at a crossroad right now where we could use some help in charting a course for the future.

Well that's all great!

Well that's all great! Sometimes life gets in the way of blogging, ahem. I am no stranger to that!

I'm glad that you had a nice time with your grandson. Do you have a favorite Doctor yet? It's addictive, isn't it?!

Big X's and O's!
