Merry Christmas

The Scandinavian Shop

Where the magic began! At The Scandinavian Shop in Scottsdale, AZ!

My sister, Leslie, otherwise known as the family archivist, purchased this post card in the shop long, long ago and saved it all these many years. When Leslie listened to the "Christmas Podcast" - this year Diane and I took a little trip down "ornament memory lane" - she spent hours searching her prodigious archives to find it so she could surprise her big sis.

On the back of the card are written these words: "Where Christmas-year-round originated. 'Tis said, that "trillions" of ornaments from remote areas of the world dazzle from the ceiling promising spectacular wonderment for the mere price of a cricked neck."

Ever since I first stepped through that little door into this room, my Christmas has been filled with magic and wonderment.

And I began a personal holiday on July 25th just so Diane and Mike and I could visit and wrap ourselves in wonderment twice a year!

Whether your tree is pink or white or blue; covered with simple hand made creations by children or priceless heirlooms; traditional or modern or eclectic; gigantic or tiny: from the bottom of my heart I wish you a Christmas filled with "spectacular wonderment".

I hope you and your family

I hope you and your family have had a lovely holiday. WE had a Swedish Christmas Eve with my family and an American Christmas with my husband's family. We celebrated at our house this year which we do about once every 5-10 years. Normally we have to drive to Orange County, CA.

Merry Christmas, Katharine
