Bunny from "Stuffed animals" by Abigail Patner Glassenberg

I love having Abby's book in my library and it will likely become slightly rumpled and dog eared in time from being pulled out and referenced frequently. "Stuffed Animals from Concept to Construction" is one of the best (if not the best) books out there teaching the methods and tricks and delights of making stuffed toys. In my personal opinion, it belongs in every crafter's library.

After receiving my copy this past spring, I immediately made the Fish (first project in the book) - see that here if you like. And then I created my very own stuffed toy - a Gecko - because providing the tools and techniques needed for designing and assembling unique and personal stuffed animals is really what Abby's book is all about. "Gecko" can be found here.

Next "Abby project" on my list - is scheduled for the spring! An Easter Bunny!

My intention, until very recently, has been to cut the bunny parts from vintage embroidered linens rescued from thrifts. As you can see above - my collection is quite small!

And then one day not so long ago, "Stitched Blooms" by Carina Envoldsen-Harris appeared in my mail box and it wasn't long after that I thought of creating my own embroidered fabrics for Abby's bunny using motifs found in Carina's book.

AND I may even knit/felt a pair of "Bunny Easter Slippers" using instructions in "The Knitted Slipper Book" by Katie Startzman!

I am pretty excited to get started because when completed it is going to be a seriously cool Easter Bunny inspired by three of my favorite designers!

I promise - I will keep you - uh - posted on my progress!

Good luck to everyone who enters the giveaway - who should be everyone who doesn't already own this book!!!
