Little Holiday Sack for my "Charlie Brown" tree

Introducing my "Charlie Brown Tree" dressed up in it's very own burlap holiday sack!

To make the little sack I combined two projects found in "Stitched Blooms"...

Project page from "Stitched Blooms"

Â… Holiday hoops and...

Project page from "Stitched Blooms"

Â… Pom Pom Luminaries.

The pinecone is not exactly perfect - I found that burlap does not play as nicely with transfer pens as does cotton or linen. So mostly I had to stitch the design free-hand onto the burlap.

But if you think about it - that nice big pinecone gives my little tree something to aspire to become - a tree big enough to make big pinecones!

The tree itself is a rescued seedling found in my garden last spring. I have always wanted a small, live evergreen to celebrate the holidays - but paying anywhere from $19.00 to $40.00 for a one foot tree seems Â… well let us just say it is not something I am inclined to do! Especially not knowing how long the tree is going to live after being neglected in a store display.

If cared for and loved, my "Charlie Brown" tree should be celebrating Christmas with me for years to come. May need to make some bigger holiday sacks though!

Carina's beautiful book will be welcomed by every stitcher on your gift list and is especially perfect for young stitchers just beginning to learn embroidery.

Good luck to all who enter for a chance to win a copy of "Stitched Blooms"!
