Knit/Felt Mini Goblins and a Witch to Celebrate Halloween!

Pattern by Marie Mayhew
Just finished needle felting hair and adding faces to five mini goblins to keep Mathilda Witch company on Halloween!
The pattern is a version of Marie Mayhew's Woolly Gnome Pattern found in her book "Whinsical Woollies" here or here. The pattern can also be found in her Etsy Store "Woolie Something" here, in her Craftsy Shop here, and on Ravelry here.
I love this pattern especially because it offers so many possibilities for knit/felt 'bodies' that can be embellished following Marie's instructions or following your own Muse!
While most hats were knit right onto the body before wet felting, I knitted this one separately. Wanted to use that bright green yarn as part of the striped hat and since it was NOT 100% felt-able wool, I had to knit it separately.
I am seriously thinking about placing this little goblin/witch on my new Arne and Carlos / Marie Mayhew Advent countdown tree to mark Jan. 6th - Ephany - and represent the good witch who brings gifts to children in Italy - La Befana. You can read more about her here and see images here!!
I found a particularly silky pale lavender roving in my stash and just love the wizard-y hair it made! Thinking of making a Christmas Wizard for the countdown tree in November and will use this roving!
Didn't realize until I completed the "photo shoot" that my little goblins could have used a bit of clean-up with tape to remove the roving bits!! But then again they are goblins and would no doubt manage to add more!
Goblins are knit with fingerling and #5 needles so that when properly felted they are only 3" tall without the hat! I used Knitpicks Palette as it is 100% wool and felts up well.
The goblins knit up very very quickly, are easy even for beginners, and at this tiny size felt in a jiffy! (I felted all five in less than 15 minutes!! They dry overnight. And I do not remove the stuffing, as Marie suggests for larger sizes, before embellishing.
So what this means is this: THERE IS STILL PLENTY OF TIME TO MAKE WITCHES AND GOBLINS BEFORE HALLOWEEN!!!
