December 8th : Sharing my Completed Fiber Nativity

Fiber Nativity

Today is Precepe Day in Italy and along with setting up my small collection of nativities, I added the babe and the manger to my all fiber nativity scene.

Needle felting was the perfect choice for both the babe in swaddling clothes and the manger. Bits of stash yarn in shades of yellow were needle felted to the bottom inside of the manger and then some were untwisted. Very simple and quick!

Nativity additions

One of my favorite yarn stars and a few Bobble Christmas Trees crocheted from Planet June's beautiful pattern here complete the scene.

Next year, more figures from fiber as my lamb has put in the request for some companions to talk to when I am asleep. I will likely make another lamb from Marie Mayhew's pattern available in her book and in her shop here; and a knitted pony from Arne and Carlos available here on the Trafalgar Books site.

Now to find room for my other nativities!

Yes, dear. I am fine just not posting as often on the blog as I used to.  I am mostly using the blog now to share tutorials or information, but day to day stuff is being shared on Instagram.  Thank you for your concern.
