Partridges and Snowflakes! How I Supported Crafty Bloggers in October

P1120612

Some of you might remember seeing my beautiful snowflake ornament from Colleen at Some Art Fabric. It was sent as a gift along with the beautiful dove I ordered from her collection of Recycled Holiday Ornaments made from pop - mostly Coke - cans.

Yarnia Inspired Angles: My Littlest Angel

P1120384

Almost named this angel "Trouble"! But all is forgiven now so that's not going to happen!

Instead, I have named her "My Littlest Angel" after the little angel in a much loved book (The Littlest Angel) remembered from my childhood. For a time the angel in the story just couldn't get the hang of things and kept inadvertently doing things that prevented him from getting his wings.

Yarnia Inspired Angels: Making Wheat Harvest Angel

P1120391

Since I love playing with wheat - fashioning it into ornaments and brooms and house blessings - I just had to make a "harvest" angel using wheat straws. I have named this one Leslie and those who know her (she is my little sister) will understand!

Yarnia Inspired Angels: Making a Beaded "Snowflake" Angel

P1120387

Meet sweet and delicate "Snowflake"! She is the forth angel in the Yarnia Inspired Angels series and if you missed the others - you can find all six angels here and how to posts for the red angel, folk angel and quilted angel.

Yarnia Inspired Angels: Making the Quilted Angel

P1120415

I have been holding on to every last scrap of this sparkly star fabric and using it for only very special projects! It is impossible to show, but the fabric has millions and millions of shiny silver bits embedded in the fabric which wink and sparkle constantly.

Not being a quilter nor having ever gotten the hang of free motion quilting, my efforts to create a quilted wing will probably not astound and amaze you! But the end result is working nicely and the wings sparkle at me every time I walk by!
