Yarnia Inspired Angels: Making the Folk Angel.

P1120409

In my notes, I always referred to this angel as my "Folk Angel" - and she does have a kind of folk art feel about her.

I fashioned her after a memory of an angel painting I remember from my childhood in Santa Fe. But she IS wearing Diane's sock yarn and she is blue (Diane's favorite color), so I have just this minute decided to name her Diane after my sweet daughter!

Yarnia Inspired Angels: Making The Red Angel

P1120404

Let's start the Making Angels Series with Lindsey - she is, after all, my first! And some of the techniques I am sharing (like hair application for instance) will also be used on other angels as well, so it makes sense to begin with her.

Just so you know in advance, this is the longest post of the series.

I am dividing the "how-to" posts into sections so if you are only interested in say hair application, you can skip down to that part. And once they are all posted, you can mix and match and design your own angels!

Six Yarnia Inspired Angels to Celebrate 90 Days Til Christmas!

P1120400

P1120381

I had so much fun making Angels using scrap yarn and cardboard cones from Yarnia that what started out to be an angelic duet turned into a choir of six!

Meet Three Brand New Untraditional Dala Horses!

P1110792

Second week of the Dala Craftalong and here are a few little guys I have made using my very simple (and free) pattern for a Dala ornament!

Most of you who know me, know that I am big time into celebrating traditions, but often in untraditional ways! The three Dalas I am sharing are definitely not traditional! But I am hoping you will enjoy them and their stories.

Futuregirl Inspires "Snow Alice" - Newest Member of My Soft Toy Snowman Family!

P1110649

I almost let Christmas in July go by without officially introducing you to Snow Alice! You have seen her peaking out from the background here and there these past months, but you haven't been officially introduced.

Last July you got to meet the first member of my snow family. At that time, I believe I told you I was making several more to share in November!
