Other Holidays

One ornament to Celebrate Four Holidays! Hanukkah! Santa Lucia! Feast of Guadalupe! Advent!

!

The feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the beginning of Hanukkah, and Santa Lucia Day all fall on the same weekend this year!

I love this cheerful little ornament that can be adapted for any one or all of them!

Santa Lucia Day, December 13th.  Use red and white yarns to reflect the colors used in Scandinavian winter holiday decorations.

Viva LA FIESTA!

Here she is!  My beautiful mother, modeling a gorgeous, hand crafted late 1940's Fiesta Dress!    (As a grade school student,  I was convinced I had the most beautiful mother on the planet!)

December 12th - Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe

In Mexico and Latino communities throughout the United States, the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe is celebrated with processions and special church services. You can find beautiful pictures of Our Lady of Guadalupe here.

Debra-Duran Geiger, a Santa Fe artist, designed and hand-painted this lovely representation of Our Lady on high fired ceramic tile. I am so fortunate to have this piece as I understand the artist is no longer making these tiles.
