Make Easy Fall Themed Pinatas using Gourds

P1080117

I just had to try this out to see if it would work!

I have been thinking for some time that gourds would make the greatest "ready-made" pinata forms! And, you know what? It turns out they do!! No paste and layers of newspaper strips and drying and more strips..... None of that yucky stuff!

Recycle A Cardboard Canister into A Treasure Box

I am not sure yet what I am going to store in my new box!  Maybe beach treasures, maybe embroidery floss, crafty supplies....  Who knows!  What I do know is that I love my new treasure box!

The whole thing started when I won Heather's giveaway recently on Dollar Store Crafts.  The prize - a packet of micellaneous bits and pieces of paper scraps from a little place called Scrap!

Sharing a new Advent Calendar

I have been wanting to make this giant Advent Calendar for almost 10 years!   10 YEARS!  How many of you have had projects on the back burner that long???

Martha started it all with her Advent Calendar using Christmas cards as the scenes behind the windows. I have been smitten with the idea ever since! I started collecting beautiful Christmas cards right away!

Old Books become New Wall Storage Folders!

Here are some great ways to create wall storage folders out of old books bound for the dump!

This is a 90%  recycle/reuse project!  Other than rescuing the books from the Goodwill bins and buying a small package of buttons, everything else used to construct these wall storage folders came from project leftovers.

While I was at the bins, I saw lots of discarded children's books.  If I had school age children, I would be making these for their rooms to store school art projects, homework and other treasures using large format children's books in good condition.
