Right in the middle of writing the tutorial for making Teneriffe Snowflakes (post is here) I started wondering if I could make a simple Teneriffe Snowflake on a knitting loom. So I dropped everything - pulled out the loom and a bit of bulky weight yarn and this is the beautiful result!

Teneriffe Lace making is what Diane would refer to as "deep craft" a more "intense" craft that relatively few crafters will likely attempt. However, after struggling through the learning curve and actually finding teneriffe to be fun, I set out to create a very simple version of the sweet little circlets and thereby hopefully making it more appealing to a greater number of crafters. I call these "Teneriffe Snowflakes".

The next two weeks will be devoted to weaving! Lots of different kinds of weaving! And we are starting it off with Teneriffe and its "spin-off cousins" - flower looms.
Thinking some of you might be surprised at the sweet possibilities the flower looms offer - so I am sharing a few of them along with a link to one of the best free PDF's available for making loom flowers.
And in a couple more days - a tutorial from me to you for making a simplified Teneriffe lacy snowflake just like the one above! It is not as hard as it looks!

Most of my readers know that when I am working on a project in earnest, I carry it with me almost everywhere I go to take advantage of what would otherwise be "lost" minutes! This habit is a big part of how I manage to fit as much crafty goodness into my life as I do! Generally speaking - most fiber crafts - knitting, crochet, embroidery and hand sewing - are excellent candidates! Hexies on the go - a bit more challenging! So many little bits and scraps - and hexies to corral.
