How to Weave a Heart Shaped Ornament

P1120926

Meg over at MegaCrafty has invited all of us to join her Crafty Christmas Tree Challenge and decorate your Christmas Tree with only handmade ornaments.

As if I needed more handmade ornaments! But I am joining in anyway! Can't help myself!

Yarnia Inspired Angels: Making The Red Angel

P1120404

Let's start the Making Angels Series with Lindsey - she is, after all, my first! And some of the techniques I am sharing (like hair application for instance) will also be used on other angels as well, so it makes sense to begin with her.

Just so you know in advance, this is the longest post of the series.

I am dividing the "how-to" posts into sections so if you are only interested in say hair application, you can skip down to that part. And once they are all posted, you can mix and match and design your own angels!

Six Yarnia Inspired Angels to Celebrate 90 Days Til Christmas!

I had so much fun making Angels using scrap yarn and cardboard cones from Yarnia that what started out to be an angelic duet turned into a choir of six!

A Little Christmas in July Tree Ornament

P1110473

Weaving both sides of a small cardboard loom = weaving two cool holiday tree ornaments at the same time.

These trees measure about 4 1/2" and are not only great ornaments, but would be beautiful tied onto a package. Hang several in a window or create a garland. Make big ones and little ones and mix them up in a display. My crafty online family is a brilliant lot, so I know there are lots of cool ways these will be used.

How To Weave a Beautiful Journal Cover

P1110458

I am actually making journals!

Journals are not my thing. I have nothing at all against journals, I just never in a million years would have thought I would be making journals.

But I am now! And aren't they beautiful?  Can't wait to begin using them!
