A quick re-cap about weaving in Saori Style and then the how-to!
And to repeat what I said in the last post, I am not really inventing anything new here. Just putting things together in new ways.

Anyone who has been reading my blog for a while knows that I love weaving in Saori style.
For one thing, it just seems to me that Saori weaving is a natural for those of us sharing this community - because we love being individuals and expressing who we are - especially if it can be done using recycled materials.

Got an e-mail from Nicole a few days ago asking me if I had ever figured out the weaving pattern for a Star of David - I mentioned I was working on it in the Yarn Star tutorial I published last December.
Actually - I had put the project on the back burner where it had remained until I got Nicole's reminder! ACK! This tutorial wasn't on the schedule! And I wasn't planning anything this complicated to post right now in my busy season!

I just finished my very own Earth Loom and can't wait to share!
Building the loom is very easy and would be a great family project for the summer. Once the loom is completed, let your children weave in all the collected memories and treasures found as they stroll beaches, picnic in the forest or walk in a local park or in the countryside.
The Earth Loom is not my idea but one I have enthusiastically adpoted from an extraordinary Saori weaver, Terri Bibby.

My very first Brigid's Cross or St. Brigid's Cross!
Some people worship the goddess, and some recognize and worship the saint. Most of the links at the end of the post today are intended to share the stories of both goddess and saint. I hope you will take time to read them and learn more of the rich history and lore surrounding Brigid and perhaps find your own reasons to honor her by making a Brigid's Cross.
I am celebrating Brigid as the goddess of creative inspiration and expression by Making a Brigid or St. Brigid Cross!
