First Winter Holiday Quilt Block

Holiday Quilt Blocks

"Welcome to the North Pole: Santa's Village in Applique" by Becky Goldsmith and Linda Jenkins - Piece O' Cake Designs.

When I first saw a completed quilt based on the designs offered in this book, I wanted very much to make one just like it. I was completely enchanted by the playful little houses and tipsy trees.

Dutch Canal Houses - Table Topper for St. Nicholas Celebrating

Dutch Canal House Pattern

Believe it or not - until I set foot inside the Dutch Store last year, I had never even heard of a Dutch canal house! Seeing all those charming Delft blue and white ceramic canal houses lined up side by side on a shelf - well - it was love at first sight and I instructed my Muse to begin thinking of a way to incorporate Dutch canal houses into my St. Nicholas celebration.

Playing with Finnish Tonttu and Danish Nisser

P1130412

Here he is! My very own little Finnish Tonttu! I love him to pieces!

Up until December 11th, I was convinced there were no little Christmas elves to be found in Finland. On December 12th, thanks to a lovely reader named Dawn, I was directed to Lene who offered a complete how-to for making Finnish Tonttu on her blog Dances With Wool.

Woven Gingerbread Man Ornament

P1130044

Just finished a couple more woven ornaments for Meg's Crafty Christmas Tree Challenge.

I decided after having success with my little heart, that I would see how far I could push this! There are lots of curves and nooks and crannies associated with the shape of a gingerbread man. I am happy to be able to report that it worked perfectly!
