Antonio's Gift - How to Make Pressed Fall Leaves Into Sparkly Ornaments

Antonio gave me these beautiful leaves the day I went to his house to teach him to make fall leaf candles.  And since they make perfect Christmas tree ornaments, I just had to share!

I love how children can teach you things you would have never thought of making or doing. We started the afternoon together making fall leaf candles.  I had also brought along red, blue and silver glitter so Antonio and his sister, Sophia, could decorate pine cones.

Sharing a new Advent Calendar

I have been wanting to make this giant Advent Calendar for almost 10 years!   10 YEARS!  How many of you have had projects on the back burner that long???

Martha started it all with her Advent Calendar using Christmas cards as the scenes behind the windows. I have been smitten with the idea ever since! I started collecting beautiful Christmas cards right away!

Mini Pinata Advent Calendar - Christmas in July

Only a little over four months left until December 1st  - so what better way to celebrate "Christmas In July" than to get started making your Advent Calendars!

July? Christmas?  Absolutely!  "Christmas in July" celebrations have been a much loved tradition in our family since Diane was about 5 years old.  On July 25th we would take a trip to a local Christmas shop so my children could pick out a special ornament to save and then put on the tree in December.

Beading Ojos de Dios (God's Eyes)

I've been playing around with this idea of adding beads to a God's eye for a while now.  I used the the reversed weaving technique described in my previous post and then added strings of beads to the "wells".  If you are new to God's eyes or need a refresher, refer to my basic tutorial for weaving God's eyes.

Punched "Tin" Butterflies and Other Creatures - Inspiration and Ideas!

Butterflies are not the only creatures I make out of tin!  I just finished making this little sea dragon - a gift for my Mother because she happens to collect dragons!

My favorite way to use "punched tin" creatures? Tree ornaments of course!  And it is my firmly held opinion that it is never too early to begin making for the holidays!

So to help get your muse thinking about cool ideas for "punched tin", here are a few more ornament creatures to inspire you and get you thinking beyond butterflies.
