Dutch Canal Houses Embroidery Has Been Completed. Sharing a little PDF
Submitted by Pam on Mon, 02/04/2013 - 18:31Dutch Canal Houses Embroidery completed! And I am happy to report - completed in time for St. Nicholas Day last December. At least one end of it.
I am the first to notice my stitching is not perfect, but one thing I did learn is that, in this particular case at least, the whole is greater than it's imperfect parts!

I didn't plan it this way, but the table runner is becoming an opportunity to learn new stitches as I look for ways to create interest and texture.
My strategy? Simply to page through two of my most favorite stitch references until a stitch jumps out at me! Most times the stitch itself will suggest where it is best to be used!
Dutch Canal Houses - Table Topper for St. Nicholas Celebrating
Submitted by Pam on Tue, 07/17/2012 - 20:45Believe it or not - until I set foot inside the Dutch Store last year, I had never even heard of a Dutch canal house! Seeing all those charming Delft blue and white ceramic canal houses lined up side by side on a shelf - well - it was love at first sight and I instructed my Muse to begin thinking of a way to incorporate Dutch canal houses into my St. Nicholas celebration.
