A sweet little hexie/kanzashi pin cushion to celebrate Christmas in July!
Some of us who make gifts for Winter Holiday giving like to get started "making" early. And since many of us, and I am no exception, have been completely seduced by hexies and kanzashi, I decided as my "Christmas in July" gift to you, I would incorporate both in designing a little pin cushion that would be perfect for holiday gift giving.

"Welcome to the North Pole: Santa's Village in Applique" by Becky Goldsmith and Linda Jenkins - Piece O' Cake Designs.
When I first saw a completed quilt based on the designs offered in this book, I wanted very much to make one just like it. I was completely enchanted by the playful little houses and tipsy trees.

Believe it or not - until I set foot inside the Dutch Store last year, I had never even heard of a Dutch canal house! Seeing all those charming Delft blue and white ceramic canal houses lined up side by side on a shelf - well - it was love at first sight and I instructed my Muse to begin thinking of a way to incorporate Dutch canal houses into my St. Nicholas celebration.

Sorry for the delay in announcing the winner of the Christmas in July Shopping Spree! My grandson, Joey, is visiting and we took him to spend a couple nights at my sister's cabin near Mt. Rainier. Just got back and I had Joey draw the winning number for us.
And the winning number is - number 8
Trouble O'Hara! You are the winner!
I had three people enter by way of replying to the e-mail version of the post. So I included them in the drawing. Names were listed in order according to the time they were received.
