MEME!

My friend Chris tagged me recently, so I must answer 15 questions about myself. Chris did say I could change the rules (if you read Chris's blog Prisim Trail! you already know Chris has never followed a rule in her life)! So, instead of writing out my answers, I am answering in pictures and that way, if you really don't care where I am going on my next vacation, you might still enjoy the photos!

Chris just returned from Hawaii and has posted a series of beautiful photos of her trip. Start here!

Chris also changed the "tag eight people" rule and only tagged one person! I like that change. I am tagging Liz, who just returned from a fabulous trip to Cairo and probably has all the time in the world to do this! Well, maybe not, but she is a wonderful photographer and I am hoping she will follow my lead and answer in pictures. Be sure to join Liz on her Cairo adventure. Bon voyage!

Luminarias

It wasn't Christmas when I was growing up without a drive around town on Christmas Eve to see the Luminarias. Actually, they are known as Farolitos (little fires) in New Mexico and the word "Luminaria" is reserved for the small bonfires used to light the way for participants in Las Posadas. But since most of the world knows the little bags with candles in them as Luminiarias or Luminaries, I am using that word in this post.

December 1st - Advent Calendar begins today - YAAAAAAAAAY

Here it is! The inspiration for the advent calendar I made my children 35 years ago. Another "must make" I saved from Mom's holiday magazines. This one I am almost sure was from McCalls.

And here is the last surviving ornament from the original set I made. My very crafty daughter Diane and I made new ones when she was in high school, and I tossed out the old felt ones. But she managed to retrieve one from the waste basket!
